Inspection Services
Housing Inspections
The Lauderhill Housing Authority (LHA) Inspection Division handles a large number of inspections annually, ensuring that every rental property meets the City’s Schedule M Land Development Regulations.
The process of scheduling inspections involves shared information between the City of Lauderhill and the Broward County Property Appraiser’s office. Landlords are notified in writing 15 days in advance of an inspection by LHA. The landlord, in turn, notifies tenants of upcoming inspections. Tenants are normally at home during these inspections to point out any deficiencies the landlord may be unwilling to address or which may cause a health and safety concern. Any violations are noted and a Notice of Violation (NOV) is issued to the property owner to correct these deficiencies.
Our team of inspectors is always willing to accommodate the busy schedules of both tenants and owners. Ultimately, our goal is to ensure that all owners are in compliance and every tenant within the City of Lauderhill occupies a property that is free from health and safety concerns.
LHA’s inspection services are available to other agencies and entities that need to maintain the integrity of rental properties and protect the health and safety of their tenants. Municipalities, housing authorities, real estate companies, apartment and condominium communities or others may contact us for more information. Call 954-730-7017 or email us at: [email protected]
